Using Video or Audio Software

This is ideal topic to help you produce and edit video for mobile devices. The evidence asks for the ability to record pre-planned video and sound footage on a video camera, download the footage to a computer, then editing to create a short sequence, including adding some backing music; knowledge requirements such as compatibility, file format, file size, coding, compression and editing.

Imaging Software

This topic looks at a range of use of images – either from a digital camera, camera phone or scanner and the ability to create edited images for publication, handheld devices or for the web.

Using Collaborative Technologies

This topic looks for the ability to use IT tools and devices for collaborative working and communications such as micro-blogging, image sharing and video streaming, conferencing, instant messaging/chat, online phone and video calls; social networking sites, wikis or online work management tools.

Improving Productivity using IT

This requires evidence of planning, evaluation and the ability to show how procedures have been improved to create efficient systems. This can include ‘e’ as well as ‘m’ evidence.

Using the Internet

This looks for evidence about connectivity, including mobile broadband and WiFi, adapting the browser interface, searching the Web effectively and using web and mobile based communication tools.
